Our basic obedience program focuses on behavior at home and is geared toward dogs who will be in a home environment more often. We teach your dog certain common commands and behaviors such as sit, stay, lay down, here (come), heel (loose leash walking), not jumping on people, and not dashing through a gate/door as soon as you open it. We can customize certain aspects within reason – contact us to discuss your needs. We send video clips and updates periodically during training and at the end we do a demonstration with your dog for you to show what he/she has learned, and then we have the owners practice with their dog before going home to help the dog mentally transition from trainer to owner. We train the dog, and then we train you how to “handle” your dog in the things he or she has learned.

Our advanced obedience program includes all of the topics included in the basic program but goes a step further and takes your dog out in multiple public places as well. This program is geared toward dogs that will be in a public environment frequently. Dogs learn very situationally; much of what they learn fits into “contextual mental boxes.” It is important to expose your dog to a wide array of settings and situations to help him/her fully understand that the commands and behaviors learned will apply in every setting. Bird dogs are how we got our start! We actively hunt and train for upland, doves, and waterfowl. Whether it be pointers, flushers, or retrievers, we can do it all. With a background in German versatile hunting dogs (they are REQUIRED to perform in multiple categories just in order to pass breeding eligibility requirements), we are equipped to tackle everything from blind duck searches, pointing issues, gunfire introduction, retrieving training/issues, and more. We evaluate every dog in the early stages of the program to ensure it has what it takes to complete the program and provide updates and video clips during the process, so you know how your dog is doing. At the end of the training, we have you come out and watch a demonstration with your dog and then you will be asked to practice it with your dog before going home. This ensures your dog can transition from trainer to owner much easier once they go home.
Cost: $1500/month, all birds included
Estimate 4 months. When 2+ dogs are training to bird hunt together – add an extra month.
