Meet Your Trainer
We are a full-service board and train facility located in Stephenville Texas. We have specialized and dedicated trainers for obedience, behavior, stock dogs, bird dogs, blood tracking, NAVHDA, and JGHV (German hunt) testing. We take time to build trust with your dog and provide periodic updates with pictures and videos of your dog’s progress.
Our background is in the German versatile hunting dog system. This rigorous system is the basis for breeding eligibility in German registered hunting dogs. This system involves a strong obedience and behavioral aspect, requiring the owner and the dog to have an in-tune partnership. These aspects carry over to the home in a pet environment, as German hunting dogs are expected to be great family and companion dogs as well. We use these fundamental expectations in our obedience programs. The versatile hunting and working aspects of the German dogs provide a diverse and detailed experience level for our trainers.
Although German gundogs are our bread & butter, we’ve worked with over 1000 dogs from close to 40 different breeds, ranging from dachshunds and terriers, to great danes and cane corsos, to labs and shorthairs. No matter what breed of dog you have, big or small, we can help with your specific needs!
There are a thousand different training methods and tools out there when it comes to dogs. We often get asked “what methods do you use?” or “what tools do you use?” – the answer is, it varies. The key to successful dog training isn’t necessarily following an outline – because let’s face it, every dog is different. They are individuals! We cater our training to each dog to meet it where it’s at. We can change the method or tool in a split second if needed. The key to successfully training a dog is READING the dog. Our trainers are immersed in dog body language, mental processes, and more. We read each dog – continually. We then can work with the dog on THAT level at THAT moment in the way that is most appropriate for success.
